Why is losing weight just about impossible? Have you tried more than one diet? Do you dread your bathroom scale? Do you find yourself in a love-hate relationship with food? Do you hate shopping for clothes? If you said yes to any of the above questions, you are not alone. What makes this lecture different than anything else you've tried? I take a body, mind, and spiritual approach to weight loss.
Being certified in both plant-based nutrition and taking over 250 hours of course credit at The Institute for the Psychology of Eating and having once weighed 260 pounds, lost over 100 pounds, and have kept it off for over 7 years, I bring both personal and professional information to this lecture.
Losing weight may be one of the most difficult things to do in a healthy manner. For one, the amount of information available is overwhelming and confusing. How are you supposed to know who's telling the truth? Who's lying? Or who's just trying to sell a product they know doesn't work but they know you are desperate and will try anything to lose the weight? It can be maddening and extremely disappointing to the point where you just give up. There are some credible people and businesses out there that can get you to lose weight, however, 98% of people will gain the weight back plus some extra. This is where I am different.
Understanding the Psychology of Emotional Eating is key. In this lecture, we will explore ways to talk to yourself by implementing deeper questions around who you are as an eater, why you emotionally eat, identifying your weaknesses, and helping you begin to form a HEALTHY relationship not only with yourself but with food as well. You will go home with some homework to start implementing as I want you to start to integrate what you learn right away. I will introduce you to the concept of Mindful Eating and how to use it to help yourself lose weight for good.
There are ALSO very real physical identifiers that can make you hold onto weight for instance your hormones, pharmaceutical drugs, certain disease processes, additives in processed food and fast food, etc. We will touch on these things as well.
I will also introduce you to the concept of INTUITIVE eating and how you can begin to intuit what your body needs with the help of a process called Kinesiology.
It is a jam-packed 3 hours of information and hopefully some light-bulb moments. I want to see people be successful in losing the weight that keeps them from a thriving life. You deserve to be happy AND healthy!
